Bathroom Remodel

Let's just say this project was a grueling one at that!!  But here it is!  We took our cast iron tub out by force with a hammer, took the entire thing down to just studs and a concrete floor....  And so it sat for many months before we got going on any rebuilding up of it.   But in all the impatience I was feeling about it, our septic tank backed up, and into that bathroom it went!  And rather than being upset about it, I saw the joy in the fact that it was still just a bare room that didn't have the nice fixtures yet that we had coming for it.   And so I praised the Lord for that!!  Although the septic issue set us back $300, and then an air conditioning issue later in the summer set us back $1,600, the Lord was faithful (as always) and we were able to have it all done by Evelyn's birthday (when we would need it the most for our guests).

Before

So, I somehow forgot to take before pictures, but here is the best i could come up with....

Lovely baby blue tub and swan frosted sliding glass shower doors.

Baby blue walls and accent tiles.  And the baby blue and white honeycomb tile floor you are missing out on!   ;P

New drywall in.

Tile floors going in.

After

And there you have it!!  :)  All our hard work payed off!

I love a touch of rustic vintage!  And am proud to say I made this unique towel bar out of 3 original antique hooks and a piece of pallet board.   ;)

Some other fun vintage finds!

Good night (or day) to all!

Finished Projects Part II

So, here are a couple of finished projects I again didn't take many blogtastic step-by-step pictures of...  But you can see the finished products and know they look great compared to how they did look...  ;)

Leg-dipped and distressed table (desk) and chair.

Pallet wood sign.
Need:
-Pallet boards
-Table saw to cut them to desired lengths
-Spray adhesive
-Stencils
-Measuring tape to center it.
-Acrylic craft paint
-Sponge brush
-Sand paper (or electric sander as I prefer)

Lovely!!

October is only beginning

We have lots going on this month, and I can't wait to post more on crafty things, birthday things and whatever else things may come along.  We have 3 family Birthdays and an anniversary to celebrate!  But more on all that later.

We went to the Apple Barn on Monday evening to get some apples and of course to share a dumpling.

Isn't she adorable?!?  ;-*

Then, again today, we went with Evelyn's "Bestie" Rayleigh and her Mommy April (who has never been to the Apple Barn (or "Apple Darn" as Evelyn calls it) and had a cookie with some apple cider in cute juice cups for the girls.   After that, we went to a farm called Jackson's Farm to pick out some pumpkins and corn stalks for decorating,  then stopped at one last place called R & R Farms.

Lovey hugs!!  :)  ...and then...  Oh no!!!

Tiiiimmmbbeerrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Poor little Evie got squished by RayRay and bumped her head on the corner of that black plastic pumpkin stand.  :'(  I am sorry to say it was mixed emotions of hilarious because of how it all went down (as in slow motion), but then super sad that Ev really did hurt herself pretty bad...

And then, I made some Fall treats.

 HAPPY Hump Day!!!

Fun with Ev

Well I've been working banquets this weekend,  and I can say that I've enjoyed it a bit,  but I have mostly just missed being a Mommy and spending those hours with my munchky-poo!  ...And I think she's missed me too.  ; )  So I just wanted to spend a little time sharing some things we did this past week.

Being silly with sticker lips

Very random...  Our first daisies and jalapeƱos of the year - But of course, my dear friend Jessica ended up with about a thousand jalapeƱos compared to my crop of 5!...  [She's got black gold as dirt, compared to my rocky clay dirt!]  ;)

Ev helped me pick some flowers the other day when I was cutting back our foliage.  She looked at me and said "vase".  And so we came in and she made her first little bouquet all by herself.  *That's, my girl! *
My, how she is growing so quickly!

Saying "Cheese" for the camera.   ( :

She loves to take a seat on Daddy's lap on the "Mow" and listen to his headphones.

Here she is helping me with the foliage cutting.

She's got to have her gloves "on" too like Mommy!

That's all for now.  Night all!
This girl's tuckered out and now all tucked in.
